If there is one genre that hasn’t shrunk this year, it is action games. The selling numbers of
clearly pushes the limits of what we thought was possible in terms of graphics. All in all, 2009 has been very kind to action seeking gamers.

If anyone doubted gaming has gone mainstream, they only need to look at the euphoria surrounding the release of Modern Warfare 2. It might not be a revolutionary game, but FPS games don’t get much better than this. |

Microsoft has its parade horse in the form of the Halo franchise. Sony on the other hand, has Killzone 2, a game that pushes the Playstation 3 further than any game before it, both in singleplayer and multiplayer. |

Master Chief saved humanity, but he didn’t finish the fight on this own. While he was up and about, destroying the halos, the ODSTs were back home, protecting humanity against the ongoing invasion. And boy, did they cause some destruction. |

If you ever doubted the PS3 was a computing powerhouse, just have a look at Uncharted 2. Photorealistic graphics, amazing physics and gameplay that leaves the rest of the genre in its dust. |
