Crackdown 2 Announced for 2010 Release

by Dr. Gonzo | 22nd December 2009 | Discuss
Aaron Greenberg of US Microsoft has said that a sequel to the critically acclaimed Crackdown has been scheduled for a release in the first half of 2010.

The quote came from the Major Nelson podcast where he said that 2010 will "hands down be a bigger year than 2009" and then began to list some of the titles that gamers could expect. The list of titles included Mass Effect 2, the latest chapter of the Splinter Cell saga, the next Alan Wake game and, of course, Crackdown 2.

While the first game enjoyed success that wasn't on many people's radars, having gone on to sell 1.5 million copies in its first six months worldwide, expectations will be higher for the sequel.

Prior to this details regarding the sequel were limited with only vague details available since it went into production. With the release looking like it will be sometime in Autumn fans of the original will not have to wait too long before they are tearing up Pacific City once more.
