Fable 2 Review (Xbox 360) @ GH

Fable was a great game and the sequel has been hyped for quite some time now. You can play the sequel as a man or a woman and you have control over not only your actions but also your sexual preferences ... are you a middle aged man who likes to play as a lesbian? then Fable 2 will be right up your alley (no pun intended). The second edition is set to be more accessible to a wider audience but does it hold the charm of the original?

Re: Fable 2 Review (Xbox 360) @ GH

Good review! I was eagerly awaiting Fable 2's release. And I have to admit that I've played it allot. But there are a few things that have begun to disappoint me.

1. All of my characters turn out to be exactly alike, regardless of the fact that I try to do some things differently. Even my dogs tend to look the same, and that was not supposed to happen....

2. Elements, like the side effects of food, should have a greater impact on a player character's personality. I mean it's ok with me that vegetarians are more "pure". But I was trying to develop a neutral character, and do things like slave rescues (for their renown bonus), and it's impossible. Even killing some of the jerks in Bloodstone doesn't have much of an impact (Hey they were being abusive to my dog!!).

3. I tried rolling a female character and found it extremely odd... She has a better physique than the male characters. Even when they both have the same points. Mind you this is just a "visual" thing, but IMO it detracts from playing as female character. Also, along the same lines, many of the choices in clothing just don't "fit". They make your female character look "HUGE".

4. Some of the rewards for "mini-games" really are a let down. For example: taking the time to unlock the Demon Doors, only one of them has a useful reward!?! Most of the "Jobs" are waste of time as well. As it stands I only chop wood long enough to buy most of the property in Oakfield, then I eventually buy up all of Bowerstone, ... (rinse repeat!). In fact raising the prices and rents is about the only way one can become "corrupt", and oddly enough eating just a modest amount of "pure" food can completely counteract the decision to be a slum lord!

The end result was that a game I expected to be amusing for several months, has become a real let down!
