The arrival of Mafia II on consoles and PC has certainly caused plenty of controversy, not just on the respective merits of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions but also, more importantly, on whether the game itself is actually a worthwhile buy.
Many gamers on the official 2K forums weren't happy about the graphical omissions they found in the PS3 version in the demo. It actually turns out these compromises, tweaks and changes are actually the tip of the iceberg. The question is, bearing in mind the relatively poor performance level of both console games, how much does this actually matter?

An update for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has been released. The update will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Voice chat volume slider (frontend and in-game), which was previously unmutable.

Voice chat microphone enable/disable option (frontend and in-game). *Note: disabled by default!* This was done so that people without microphones but wrong (default) Steam settings don't send out feedback noise from their machines. People who actually have a microphone will have to re-enable this after the upgrade.

Fixes in sound to hopefully prevent crashes on startup regarding OpenAL

Fixes in lobby behavior to prevent players from crashing

Sony is spending £750,000 to ensure PlayStation Move is embraced by mainstream audiences when it launches next week.

But the ad spend dodges specialist media and games retail to favour a supermarket tour, lifestyle press promotions and ads around major TV shows such as Big Brother, X-Factor and Premier League football matches.
In standard Ranger Mode, ammo is dramatically reduced and all weapons and attacks cause more damage. Your foes are deadlier than ever – but then, so are you...
